Kali Spoto LaRue received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University at Buffalo in May of 2007 and has been a member of the STAR team since June of that year. In January of 2021 she became owner of the practice, after her mother Marcia Spoto had been the previous owner for 40 years. She is a member of the APTA and certified as a clinical specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). She has experience as an adjunct faculty member of Nazareth College and has served as a clinical instructor for many students’ clinical rotations. Her continuing education credits include completion of the “Primary Spine Care Specialist '' training sponsored by Excellus BCBS, Sarah Duvall's pregnancy and postpartum exercise specialist course, and Yoga/PIlates informed rehab, among many others. Her professional interests include orthopedic injury, spine care, manual therapy, movement education, and health promotion. During her time at UB she was a member of UB’s Division 1 crew team for four years, and continues to enjoy staying active and fit. She has completed 6 marathons, many running races and bike tours. In her free time she loves to practice yoga, play piano, run, hike, spend time outdoors, travel and enjoy good food with her husband and 2 young children.
